Somerleyton Road

Scope of works

Lambeth Council’s Somerleyton Road scheme included the construction of more than 300 homes and the relocation of the Ovalhouse Theatre to Brixton, along with the development of workspaces in the Somerleyton Road area.

Kilnbridge’s scope included:

• Temporary works design
• Full strip out of all non-structural material
• Demolition of internal load-bearing walls
• Removal of existing timber floor and roof including chimney hearths
• Demolition of roof parapet including metal railings
• Removal of existing timber staircases at three different locations
• Construction of new lift shaft, new brick/block wall and lintels
• Installation of new steel columns and beams including padstones
• Making good to brickwork and brickwork repairs
• Installation of new timber joist and flooring
• Installation of decking at roof level and all external works.
