Scope of works

G3 is a 28-storey Build-to-Rent building within the Wood Wharf masterplan on a brownfield site adjacent to Canary Wharf.

Kilnbridge were contracted to deliver the following scope:

  • Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) magnetometer testing using 20 tonne track-truck Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) unit
  • Construction of a sheet pile cofferdam using 11.5m long PU18-1 piles across 160m total length
  • Installation of steel wailer beams
  • Installation of ground anchors (21 in total)
  • Support of existing historic dock wall with temporary works
  • Excavation to 6m depth and disposal of 4,500m³ of arisings.

Kilnbridge successfully managed LUL interfaces as well as all live construction traffic during the works.

Challenges / Achievements

  • Extremely challenging 12-week programme completed ahead of finish date
  • In-house design of all elements of the cofferdam from client’s concept drawings
  • Successfully coordinated and managed specialist subcontractors to meet programme
