Women in Construction – Alona Fedonkina

4 October 2022

This story is from my personal perspective.

‘Women in construction is not a myth, especially not in the UK in 2022.’

I was looking for a profession to realise my potential and decided after researching various options that fire stopping looked exciting and challenging enough for me to make a career in.

It would be a personal challenge as women in construction is not a common phenomenon, less than 11% of the UK construction industry is made up of women workers and the numbers of women in fire stopping are even less that the construction average.

Kilnbridge gave me this opportunity to become a professional in this competitive and demanding environment by giving me a chance to expand and improve my knowledge, skills and realise my ambitions.

My future goals are to gain a deeper knowledge in fire protection solutions and to pursue my personal career in the fire stopping industry.
